Our OSO® farm is set in the heart of an ecological sanctuary that is unique in the world: between the Tsingy de l'Ankarana National Park to the east and the pristine waters of the Indian Ocean to the west, our organic estate extends over 3917 hectares of natural salt pans, mangrove forests and wetlands with exceptional flora and fauna.

Our  OSO® prawn is unique, and its environnement

Mangrove forests are an exceptional and irreplaceable ecosystem, both fragile and limited. They are extremely sensitive to changes in water salinity and climate change.
Essential because it is a vital habitat for most marine and terrestrial species, mangrove forests form a natural protection of our biological domain, a natural “green belt”. It is also a huge potential for carbon offsetting all of our house’s activities.

At OSO®, we are committed to offering you the “best shrimp in the world” through a 100% integrated supply chain.

Since the beginning of our adventure, we have mastered every stage of production, from rigorous breeding to processing, through cooking and optimized distribution until the last kilometer.

When farming our OSO® prawn in Madagascar, we use a concept called the ‘comfort cube’, which represents the different parameters, modelled in 3D and focused on animal welfare, a pillar of AB certification. By minimising stress and optimising living conditions, our shrimp guarantee natural, healthy growth while respecting the environment.

This careful organization allows us to respect the exceptional quality of our OSO® shrimp and guarantee an incomparable freshness, whether on your stalls or in your plates.

Domestication,
a unique asset

Since the beginning of our adventure in 1976, OSO® has made the strategic choice to fully integrate the production chain to protect itself from diseases present in the natural environment.

To achieve this goal, we have set up a breeding of domestic broodstock, demonstrating a unique know-how in the world. In parallel, we have created a hatchery dedicated to the birth of our future OSO® prawn , which then join the pools of our farm.

All, of course, is certified in organic farming, guaranteeing exceptional quality.

This unique architectural structure serves as a nursery for OSO® Bio baby prawn, designed in the form of a flower.

Each “petal” of the facility is a reservoir containing approximately 100,000 litres of pure Indian Ocean water, which is rigorously biologically secured to preserve prawn health. The green petals are not only aesthetic, but also functional.

These colours are derived from the algae in the tanks, which are the main source of food for baby prawn. This architecture thus harmonizes aesthetics with functionality.
